Asked to give a guest lecture on “Visual Rhetoric” in CW 516, Summer 2007.
Designing Effective Writing Assignments in Introductory Writing Courses.  Presented Friday, October 20, 2007 during First-Year Writing Norming Session. Saw and met the need for a workshop on designing effective writing assignments in the introductory writing course.  Presented and designed a handout with background and materials as tools to help instructors think through sequencing assignments, tying the assignments to course outcomes, and accommodating student needs with thorough assignment sheets.
ENG 380 (Linguistics): Guest Lectures on Language Development and Dialects (specifically Appalachian), Summer 2003.
Developmental session and software demonstration for Rhetoric graduate students on designing and publishing job-related web-based portfolios, co-hosted with Brennan Thomas, Fall 2003.
"Surviving and Thriving in Graduate School," Developmental session presented at the GradSTEP orientation for new graduate students, co-presented with Colleen Warwick, 2002.
Accepted to teach “Composition and Cross-Training with Cinderella,” a week-long class that would explore fairy tale motifs in connection with culture, and “Don’t You Know It? You’re a Poet!” a week-long class designed to familiarize junior high students with the world of poetry, at the 2000 William Woods Summer Academy for gifted students in Fulton, Missouri.
